Reviewer's comments
"This is a short linear level where you use switches and keys to open doors to new areas and shoot plenty of enemies in between. Luckily, you get the entire weapon arsenal early on, which makes the battles easy. The environment consists of boxy rooms that lack architectural details and decorations. Overall, I think that the level needs more varied gameplay and more polish in terms of visuals to be entertaining for the players." - Samu (01-Jan-2026)
"This is a very straightforward adventure that has you run through a linear path and repeatedly follows the scheme of: room left - press button - kill enemies, room right - press button - kill enemies, open central door, move on, repeat. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my quick ride of just over 20 minutes here for what it's worth. Architecture is very simple and square, textures often wallpapered and lighting only shows via the occasional strong color thrown in for good measure. The camera work is not actually needed, but well executed and there are three secrets to pick up along the way. Plus you get to fight two hydras, a centurion and the floating head, but with your immense arsenal and health packs, they pose no real threat at all. A quick one for in between, if you want to try out a TR5 level." - MichaelP (07-Dec-2025)
"A shooter and a fairly simplistic form of it, with little else to do than pushing buttons to open doors and a lot of enemy attacks along the way. Textures are wallpapered, the rooms boxy and all in all this was a not very memorable experience ending after 20 minutes. Not recommended." - manarch2 (29-Jun-2025)
"Before getting started on my 2009 raidlist, I wanted to help Phil out with the current walkthrough backlog and noticed this was still up for grabs. Much like Amanda Lepore and Cain before, you already have a rough idea of what to expect from this builder. It's an oversized TR5 test level with a true hodge-podge of objects from the entirety of that game; were it 2001, I'd say this would be an object level to showcase these enemies working. Each time you press a button, and there are several of them, one of each type of enemy spawns right behind you. But never to worry, as you get dozens of weapons and medipacks without ever realizing. Rise and repeat. The rooms seem to have been mostly autotextured and there's a bold decision to having an animated ladder texture. I get that the author is trying to send a message using Turbo Pascal's pioneering tools while trying to pay homage to levels released at that time, but who exactly is on the receiving end of said message? 25 minutes, 3 secrets. 09/24" - Treeble (22-Sep-2024)
"Indeed I see the progress mentioned in the readme, so I don't know why to roll back from it. If it's the setup difficulty then my advice is to build a level in a less experimental engine, where it's possible to focus on creation instead of on issues... wait, do we even have such engine? Well yes we do, there's TRNG + TombEditor giving stability if not went overboard with - so I would build one solid thing with that, and make it better than anything before. To the builder: go for it. From the player's view on the builder's TR5 episode - well, it happened. You can go for it but you don't have to. Optional." - DJ Full (01-Jul-2024)
"The next effort from this builder. He's still slowly but surely getting there, although this isn't without its problems. The gameplay is generally clear and easy to follow, the enemy attacks were fairly enjoyable and the idea of working your way ever higher up the tower was cool. However, the textures are wallpapered in quite a few places, there was a serious animation problem with the ladder textures, the atmosphere is rather underwhelming and there were a few annoying object glitches whereby the battering rams swung right through the door objects. Probably only for die-hard TR5 fans." - Ryan (01-Jul-2024)
