Reviewer's comments
"a very atmospheric Venice level, I enjoyed seeing Venice on a gray rainy day, that was something different and a very good idea by the level designer. I also really liked Lara's outfit and the beautiful soundtrack in the library. all in all a very successful game" - Raider278 (04-Jun-2026)
"As the title suggests, this is a more sombre depiction of Venice with the thunder and heavy rain, but the atmosphere isn't overly depressing. It's been a while since I've seen a level that makes such good use of its space as this one does. Lara gets to explore every inch of the buildings and waterways of this section of Venice, which makes for some surprisingly challenging timed boat action. These aren't too difficult to accomplish after a couple of tries, but nor are they a piece of cake and they require a fair bit of preparation beforehand. Other highlights were the bookshelf maze (not tedious for once) and the always fun jumping across awnings, plus the not too frustrating traps. Maybe the secrets were a bit underwhelming (although I liked the work you did to get them), and the parallel bars were too much on the finicky side, but overall I had an enjoyable hour or so exploring this quarter of Venice." - Ryan (25-May-2026)
"This is an entertaining level that succeeds on most counts. There's a nice mix of puzzles, enemies, traps and timed runs which include the motorboat. The builder has provided unlimited flares, which was considerate of him, but why not just give us Venice under bright sunny skies? That would have made everything more eye-pleasing and the game more fun to play as well. I felt that one timed exercise involving the motorboat was on the unfair side. It requires a pixel-perfect jump to get across the water gap in the boathouse, and I spent much time and numerous efforts to get there. On a different note, I was a bit puzzled by those obscure book switches, which gave no indication along the way of what they were intended to accomplish. There are five of them, and I assume that all of them need to be found and used. When I used the fifth one a nearby wall lowered to reveal a secret, so it's no great shakes if you happened to miss one or more. And as for the three secrets, they reward the player, not with valuable pickups but with abbreviated fairy tales. In sum, this level doesn't appear to exhibit Hall of Fame qualities, but it's a mighty fun raid. Recommended." - Phil (23-May-2026)
"Lara visits Venice on a rainy day, on a quest to collect a golden feather via a series of fun timed runs. In between she will need to contend with some Mafia members and booby traps, as well as moving some crates and bookshelves around in a large library and its surrounding canals. Oh, and Lara can also collect some secret fairy tale books to read after she returns from her trip! Pros
  • Several timed runs to overcome when the pieces come together
  • Some simple puzzles with movable blocks to solve
  • Several areas outfitted with traps to challenge Lara
  • Well decorated Venice environment
Cons
  • The parallel bars are rather difficult to use (one must release Action at the correct time, and then press it again immediately otherwise Lara drops straight down)
  • Several switches are missing camera cues
  • Incorrect animation for reversing book switches
Time: 1 hours 6 minutes | Difficulty: Medium | Rating: 8.25/10 - Very Good" - JesseG (19-May-2026)
"This is an excellent Venice-themed level with stunning visuals and great background music, especially brilliant puzzle designs. Several consecutive time-limited switches make full use of Venice's water surfaces and yachts. However, I encountered a possible bug. There is a clock-controlled timed switch on the second floor. When I first pulled it, it prompted that a certain door had opened. But after I finished other tasks and came back to pull it again, it didn't respond at all, which is really weird." - cheng (16-May-2026)
"This is a very beautifully designed and well-thought-out Venice game that has a lot to offer, even though the area is not very large. There are many actions and tasks that you have to complete, with the focus on timed challenges. These are manageable if you use the speed of the boat. The enemies are well placed and not difficult to defeat. I also really liked how the secrets were hidden and what you had to do to get to them. All in all, a successful game with beautiful background music. Highly recommended." - nad (16-May-2026)
"If you're a veteran player you might enjoy this level a lot, it's also not as depressing as the title says because the map is very cozy. It could be one of the best Venice levels with more focus on interactions and less routing issues because there's too much chance to not find things. I couldn't get over too many sound errors. I listed all building advice in the twitch VOD, sorry for ranting there but the more mood a level has, the sadder I get by issues breaking it as they have much more impact than on a bad level. Addressing them should easily boost the rating." - DJ Full (16-May-2026)
